About the event
This dynamic clinic focuses on the art of songwriting—from crafting meaningful lyrics to shaping melody, harmony, and song structure. Designed and presented by the Louise Bennett-Coverley Heritage Council, the workshop will be led by internationally acclaimed Jamaican-born guitarist, arranger, composer, and music educator Eugene Grey, who will guide participants through the creative process of setting words to music. He will be joined by two outstanding Florida-based Caribbean writers—Christine Craig, poet and short story writer, and Malachi Smith, performance poet—who will offer insight into lyrical expression, storytelling, and performance.
